Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, better known by her stage name of Ari Lennox, is an American artist and performer from Washington, D.C., who was the first woman to sign with J. Cole's Dreamville Records record label. She released her first EP for the label on Oct. 21 2016 titled Pho where she started to gain fame. Shea Butter Baby her debut studio release was May 7th 2019. Ari Lennox has uploaded her music on the internet since 2012 with her debut mixtape "Five Finger Discount" and her EP Ariography. The year 2014 saw her continue to share her music over the web, including her own released single Bound. She appeared in Omen's Elephant Eyes and on Sweat It Out July 21st the 21st of July, 2015. J. Cole, who was part of the Dreamville crew at that time and wanted her to perform on Rihanna reference. Then, in December of 2008 it was announced that Rihanna had signed by Dreamville Records. The record Revenge of the Dreamers II which she was featured on, she sang the song Backseat along with Cozz. In the month of October the singer-songwriter released her debut EP, Pho. Ari Lennox later appeared on J. Cole's track Change and also performed as the opener on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour in 2017. In 2018, she appeared as a guest on two songs, with EarthGang's Nothing but the Best song and Bas's Icarus. Ari Lennox dropped her first single Whipped Cream off of Shea Butter Baby on July 16. The music video was then followed by a short video in September. Then on November 9 she dropped two more singles, the 40 Shades of Choke as well as Grampa. In November 2013 she dropped No One as well as Pedigree. Shea Butter Baby. Shea Butter Baby later made appearances in the Creed II album soundtrack alongside Cole. She dropped this single as a way to celebrate her debut album titled Creed II on 26 February 2019. In February of 2019 the video music for the track debuted. The track has garnered more than three million YouTube views in just one week. She was one of the support acts for 6LACK during their From East Atlanta With Love Tour in December 2018.
