Aurora Aksnes, born June 15th of 1996 in Stavanger and known professionally as Aurora sometimes stylized in uppercase as AURORA is an Norwegian musician and singer. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves was released through Decca Records Decca Records in May 2015 getting great reviews from music bloggers and the media. She has recorded several high-profile cover songs, including Half the World Away (by Oasis), from the group Oasis) to accompany John Lewis' Christmas advert and Nature Boy (by Nat King Cole), which are widely loved. Katy Perry shared a tweet that Perry announced her new song Runaway. Make it a day to celebrate her birthday. Aurora Aksnes first musical memory was when she discovered a keyboard in her loft, and becoming amazed by the music. Jan Oystein Aksnes' parents May Britt Aksnes encouraged her to use music for the sake of personal development, and not for the purpose of making a living or as a hobby. As a result, she began writing her own music. Bjork as well as Leonard Cohen are among her favourite writers. Her mother encouraged her to perform her music publicly, not to be famous, but to help others realize how important they are and how they can make a difference for humanity. She began playing the piano at the age of six, and began creating music when she was nine. It was not until she turned 14 that she told her parents. Aurora was not a goal. The singer claims she is a fan of creating music. Music to her is the best method of feeling anything.
